How much does a wedding photographer in Leipzig cost? 2026 prices at a glance
Wedding photographer prices in Leipzig for 2026, from a registry office wedding (approx. €400) to full-day coverage, and what drives the price.

The short answer: in Leipzig in 2026, a registry office wedding with two to three hours of coverage costs around €400 to €950. Coverage of the whole wedding day, i.e. seven to ten hours, usually costs €1,400 to €3,200. Large packages with twelve hours, albums and extras go up to €5,000.
For comparison: according to the Bridebook Wedding Report 2026, couples in Germany spend an average of €1,656 on their wedding photographer, and almost half of them book full-day coverage.
Here I explain why the range is so wide and how to find out what suits you.

Leipzig prices at a glance
Based on the published prices of several Leipzig wedding photographers (as of September 2026):
- Registry office, 1–3 hours: approx. €400 to €950. Often only available on weekdays or outside peak season.
- Half day, 4–6 hours: approx. €800 to €1,500. For example ceremony, reception drinks and couple portraits.
- Full day, 7–10 hours: approx. €1,400 to €3,200. From getting ready into the evening.
- Premium, 12 hours or more: approx. €2,400 to €5,000. Usually with albums, an extra shoot or video.
What determines the price
Hours on the wedding day
The biggest factor is how long your photographer stays. If you only want the ceremony photographed, you pay a fraction of full-day coverage. If you want the preparations, the best man's speech and your first dance in pictures, you need longer coverage.
The work before and after the wedding
The hours at the wedding are only part of the work. There's also getting to know each other, planning the timeline, often a visit to the venue, travel – and above all editing. Every photo is selected and adjusted in light and colour so the whole story looks consistent. That often takes longer than the wedding itself.
Experience and style
A wedding can't be repeated. Someone who has photographed many weddings knows where to stand at the decisive moment, can handle difficult light in dark churches and stays calm when the timeline falls apart. That confidence is reflected in the price – just like a distinctive, recognisable style.
Weekday and season
Saturdays between May and September book up quickly. That's why many photographers only offer their smaller packages on weekdays or in the off-season. If you marry on a Friday or in autumn, you often have more choice and sometimes a lower price.
Extras
A printed album, additional hours or a second couple shoot on another day increase the final price. Check what's already included in the package and what costs extra.
What to look for when comparing
Two offers at the same price can include very different things. These questions help you compare:
- How many hours is the photographer actually there, and what happens if the day runs longer?
- Roughly how many edited photos will you get?
- Are you allowed to use the photos privately, have them printed and share them with family and friends?
- When and how do you get the photos (online gallery, download)?
- Is travel included, and up to what distance?
- Is there a contract that covers what happens in case of illness?
- Can you see a complete wedding, not just the best twenty photos? Only then can you tell whether the photographer tells a whole day consistently well.

How many hours do you need?
- Registry office only, small circle: 2 to 3 hours are enough for the ceremony, congratulations, a group photo and short couple portraits.
- Ceremony and celebration: From about 6 hours, the afternoon with couple portraits and coffee is covered.
- The whole story: 8 to 10 hours, from getting ready to your first dance. The first hours of the party are usually enough; late at night, new moments rarely happen.
If you're unsure, write down your planned schedule and ask what coverage fits. A good photographer will tell you honestly if you need fewer hours.

What my packages include
I offer three packages:
- Registry office: 3 hours of coverage, approx. 180 edited photos, online gallery. Available on Saturdays from October to April and on weekdays all year round.
- Reportage: 8 hours of coverage, 400+ edited photos, online gallery with download rights, consultation and timeline planning.
- Full Day: full-day coverage in photo and video, a wedding film of around 8–10 minutes, 500+ edited photos.
Travel within 50 km of Leipzig is included; beyond that by arrangement. You'll receive your finished photos after about four weeks. An album, additional hours or a separate couple shoot on another day are available on request.
For a concrete quote, let's talk about your day and your wishes together – write me an email via the contact form and I'll get back to you. You'll find all details on my packages page, and the gallery shows what my photos look like.

How to save without regretting it
- Marry on a weekday or in the off-season: this often opens up smaller packages that can't be booked on summer Saturdays.
- Plan the hours deliberately: getting ready, the ceremony and couple portraits are often more important than the party after midnight.
- Decide on the album later: many couples only know whether they want one after looking through their photos.
Where I wouldn't save: on the person behind the camera. Your wedding photos are what remains of the day. Better a few hours less with someone whose photos you truly love than the whole day with someone you're unsure about.
